About WhatsMySaju

WhatsMySaju is a web app for reading saju (사주), the Korean Four Pillars tradition, in English. Enter your birth date and time to get your chart and a free summary. Full readings and compatibility reports can be unlocked from there.

How your chart is calculated

Your four pillars come from a calculation, not from AI. The same date and time always give the same pillars.

  • Year and month pillars follow the 24 solar terms (절기), worked out astronomically in Korea Standard Time. Your saju year starts at Ipchun, around February 4, not on January 1 or Lunar New Year.
  • Day pillar comes from the continuous 60-day cycle of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, counted to your birth date.
  • Hour pillar comes from your birth time and your day stem. If you don't know your time, it's left out and the other three pillars are used.
  • From those pillars we work out your Five Elements balance, Ten Gods, hidden stems, twelve life stages, and 10-year major cycles.

We use your date and time as you enter them. We don't ask for a birthplace or adjust for time zone, so a birth abroad close to a solar-term change may land in a different month pillar than a calculation that does.

How readings are written

The text of each reading is generated by AI (currently Anthropic's models) from your chart data. No person reviews each reading, and it may not match how any particular saju practitioner would interpret your chart.

What readings are for

Readings are for entertainment and self-reflection. Saju is a tradition, not a science, and it can't predict your future. Nothing here is medical, financial, legal, or psychological advice. For a closer look at the evidence, see Is Saju Real?
